About Me

Hi, I’m Lauren – a 30-something, SAHM to a precious 2-year-old little girl (and a baby boy due June 24). I love to write about life as a semi-crunchy mama, my faith, home decor, crafts, saving money and food.
I decided only a month before my daughter was born that I was going to leave my job as a clinical social worker and stay home with her. My professional background was in children’s services and family mental health – a very emotionally difficult job. I knew in my heart that I couldn’t leave my daughter everyday for a job I disliked.
It was then out of necessity that I ventured into a lifestyle of frugality. I started my own Etsy business to bring in a little bit of income for my family. My business began to take off and soon I was so busy making things for other people’s children that I hadn’t made my daughter a thing in months. I also began to clip coupons and hunt for the best deals. I got a little carried away and eventually burnt out. Now, I still like a bargain but I’m not willing to sacrifice time with my family simply to save a few cents. Something had to give.
At this point in my life, I need faith in God and his provision more than I need a steady income. I need sweet baby hugs and kisses more than I need a professional career. And I need fun and sometimes messy playtimes more than I need a daily cleaning schedule. Join me on my journey into simplicity. It isn’t always pretty but it’s always real.
With love,
